Cherryl Bird

Secretary

Cherryl’s career in corporate communications focuses on creating awareness of programs and services for organizations such as University Health Network, Mackenzie Health, and the University of Toronto. She has also provided expertise to record-breaking fundraising campaigns and on smaller projects as a consultant. Her company, Core Magazines, publishes unique stories on culture and spotlights artists from around the world. Cherryl is co-founder of a youth-culture magazine (Voice of Montreal/Voice Magazine/Vice Magazine) and was English Editor of an ethnocultural publication (Images Magazine) where she consistently showcased dance. As a journalist, she interviewed artists such as La La La Human Steps for community radio. She studied Journalism at Humber College, holds a degree in English and Sociology from the University of Toronto, and certificates in Digital Marketing Management and Women’s Entrepreneurship. Cherryl believes that an active cultural scene is a sign of a healthy community and that is why she is a lifelong volunteer for dance, theatrical, literary, and music initiatives in her local community.
